SOFTSKILL B.INGGRIS : Storiette
Happy Mother’s Day
This experience was
so valuable for me to remember. It all started (dimulai) on Saturday, 13
December 2014. I usually went (pergi/pulang) home every weekend, either
by myself using public transportation or with my big brother. But in that day,
I went (pulang) home by myself, because my brother didn’t (tidak)
bring my helmet. Whenever I wanted to go home, I always texted
(menigirim sms) my mother before. So I texted my mother in that day,
and she replied (membalas) that she would (akan) come over to
pick me up with my father to Depok. And I’m so happy! So I waited (menunggu)
for an hour, and then my parents have arrived. But then we didn’t go
home soon, because my mother really wanted (ingin) to go to this place.
So my parents and I went (pergi) to the mall.
When we arrived
(sampai), my mother and I walked (berjalan) around the mall. And
then my mother saw (melihat) shoes. She tried (mencoba) to put
them on, and she really liked (menyukai) it, it looked (terlihat)
fit in her feet. My mother wanted to buy it, but she encaged
(mengurungkan) her desire.
And after that, we went
home. I went to Pamulang on Saturday, and got back (balik/kembali)
to Depok on Tuesday morning.
A week has passed by.
And I just realized (menyadari) that Mother’s day would come in a
couple days. Two days before Mother’s day, I asked (meminta) my friend
to accompany me to buy shoes that my mother really wants to buy. I decided
(memutuskan) to buy the shoes with my savings. I’m willing to buy it
because I wanted to give those shoes to my mother so bad. And I want to
make my mother feel special in that day. I’m so happy because the shoes are
still available. But I got confused (bingung) because I remember that my
mother wants a bag too. I’m scared if I gave (memberikan) a wrong
present for my mother. So in that day, I went to homestay with an empty
hand.
At the next day, I went
back to that place with my friend. And I decided to texted my
mother about which items she really wanted to have. But I didn’t
ask my mother frontally. I texted my mother in a different way, of
course. And so, I knew (tahu) what she really wanted to have, it was
shoes! So I immediately seek for that shoes. I got shocked (terkejut)
because the shoes disappeared (menghilang)! But no..it was placed
(ditempatkan) in different spot. When I saw that shoes were used
(dipakai) by someone else, I was afraid that she would buy
it. But then again, no..she just tried it on. So I asked the
employee to have me the 37-sized shoes, and then I bought (membeli) it.
Then I visited (menunjungi) the gift shop, wrapped up (membungkus)
the shoe-box with wrapping paper. And I bought some presents for my
five-years-old brother because he won (memenangkan) the drawing contest.
Mother’s day has come,
and I decided to go home, and it was coincides with my college
days off. And again, I went home by myself because my brother couldn’t
(tidak bisa) take me with him for some reasons. When I had prepared what to
bring, outside was gloomy. And no longer, it was raining. Knowing that
heavy rain would come, I brought (membawa) an umbrella, and I wrapped
the gifts with plastic and put them in bag. And then I left (meninggalkan)
my homestay eventhough it was downpour. I found it difficult (merasa
kesulitan) because at that moment I brought a lot of things. My left
hand held (memegang) an umbrella, and the other one held a tote
bag. I waited a bus near from my campus. I caught in the rain
(kehujanan), and I’m cold. It took me about (membutuhkan) 45 minutes
until the bus came through (datang). When the bus has arrived, I took
a seat (duduk) next to a woman, and she told (berkata) me that my
tote bag was wet because I put (menaruh) it down under my feet.
But then I told her that was okay, because it was wet
already. But actually, what was inside the tote bag is my notebook. I
don’t know, I just ignored it. All I thought (pikirkan) is just about my
mother’s present. It took me about two hours and forty-five minutes to
get back home, and if it wasn’t jammed (tidak macet), it only took
an hour.
When I arrived
at Pamulang, I couldn’t stop smiling, because I couldn’t resist
that happy feeling! but first, I had to clean up myself. When I’m done cleaning
up myself, then I began (mulai) to remove out the presents from my bag
and told my fourteen-years-old brother to not tell anyone. And when my
family members were gathered (berkumpul), I gave the present to
my little brother first. He looked (terlihat) so happy! And then I gave
a present to my mother. She looked shocked (terkejut), wondering what was
inside the box, and she asked (bertanya) me what for did I give
that present to her. She smiled (tersenyum) widely when I said
(berkata) “Happy Mother’s Day, Mother”. Then she hugged (memeluk)
me, and she prayed (mendoakan)
the best for me. To perpetuate that priceless moment, I photographed (foto)
with my mother, and before I gave the present, I did a sound
recording. And when I played (memutar/memainkan) and heard
(mendengar) that sound record anytime, I always smiled because I’m
happy to make my mother happy, and that moment was still in my head! I rarely gave
a present for my mother in Mother’s day. As people said (katakan),
everyday was a Mother’s day. You give your love, and respect her a lot.
So when I gave that present, my mother felt so happy and she didn’t
expect that. That feeling when you make your parents happy, it’s just...great!
I love you mother, everyday. Let’s say that gift was a bonus given from
me. My love for you will never be faded (pudar).
